Sports Nutrition

What is sports nutrition?

Whether you are an elite athlete, a weekend warrior or just a regular exerciser, it is important to fuel your body properly for optimum health and performance. Optimal nutrition can improve performance, aid recovery, maximise training adaptations, optimise body composition and prevent injury and illness.

Sports nutrition encompasses all aspects of your diet including your general training or everyday diet, fuelling and recovery for training and competition, the use of appropriate supplements and ergogenic aids, nutrition during competition and hydration. Sports nutrition is beneficial for all athletes and active people participating in team sports, strength and power-based sports, endurance and ultra-endurance events, sprints and throwing events and everything in between.
